The goal of the project was
Conrad provides an e-commerce platform for technical supplies with 2 million customers across the European Union. The provider experienced challenges with its initial third-party hosting solution. Recognizing the need for a more robust and efficient setup, Conrad decided to migrate to the cloud. Partnering with TYMIQ, the company sought skilled Java and Vue.js developers to ensure a seamless transition and ongoing platform support.

A scalable, optimized solution
For convenience, the platform web applications were adapted for mobile devices. Hosted on our dedicated Kubernetes cluster, Conrad applications now have greater scalability, load balancing, flexibility, portability, and increased productivity.
- Collect data from different sources like SAP, Stibo Step, Bazaarvoice, Cliplister, etc.
- Prepare and aggregate data for our own use and also for third-party software, like the middleware.
- Create data feeds and provide them to different internal and external customers (Search, ProductService, Prudsys, Bazaarvoice, CDC, etc.).
- Run CDC–Conrad Data Centrifuge, a Self Service Portal, where data feeds can be created without programming know-how.
- Support the full lifecycle of our feeds and services (programming, deployments, bug fixing, maintenance, on-call duty).
- Run and maintain our own Talend environments.
- Perform data migrations (e.g. users, third parties).
Currently, the teams maintain online shops in 15 European countries and actively develop the Conrad B2B marketplace.
Now the teams are working according to the vertical distribution approach, where each team is responsible for a specific part of the platform functionality. This makes the work within the teams more effective and organized.
